Kent State Massacre – (Find The Cost of Freedom; Vietnam) + Nixon/The fall of Saigon
Intense actual footage from The Kent State protest as it decays into chaos and murder. Including the fall of Saigon video images and the final days of that US occupation. Set to CSNY “Ohio” and “Find The Cost of Freedom” non-commercial music versions. Powerful footage here.

@WolfEchoes
I agree! If you were not there you are talking out your south side. Easy to do and done by many.
this country was founded by rebels remember that..he who forgets the past is doomed to repeat it.santyana
@mrk1839 By the way A FEW DAYS after the shootings I was at a hippiedippie affair at my local park and a band did Ohio/Find the Cost. The record came out in record time heh heh I think it was about a week. Of course everyone was blown away by it but also speechless by how quick it was.
@Stannage17 That”s true. Even after the war as over, even as late as the ’90’s I think, the U.S. prevented Cambodia from passing a law saying that leaders of the Kymer Rouge coould not hold public office in Cambodia.
@equifilibricum Buut when did the commuynisdts kill millions with their bombs? I missed that.
Journalists and such divide it all up later but at the time radicals and stoners were just two aspects oof the same thing and I’m sure even the non-stoner radicals felt that too.(whatever you want to call us) were the sea that the revolutionaries swam through. Angela Davis was welcome everywhere.
@Souls4Freedom What the hell? How was that statement even close to be relevant?
@Master0Shake Your right ~stay asleep go back to listening to your music. Something I’m sure your good at.
@Souls4Freedom Then blame the soldiers who were quick to pull the trigger. Don’t go calling America a Fascist State. Freedom of speech wasn’t killed, we still have it. So you get your head out of your ass.
@Master0Shake don’t you get they were shot because they were protesting. Freedom of speech was killed that day. Get your head out of the dark place it seems to be stuck in and begin to really look around.
Peace to you.
@Souls4Freedom Oh, yeah. We’re definitely in a fascist country. Especially when they let you go on a public forum and criticize your country. That’s definitely fascism. Oh, and the fact that they allow you to watch this video. Yeah, that’s fascist too. You’re retarded. Plain and Simple.
@GeorgeVreelandHill Typical. Blame the 4 unarmed people who got shot (One of whom was in the ROTC) who were unaffiliated with the havoc of the previous days. I don’t condone burning the National Guard building but for christ’s sake, listen to the National Guardsmen that admitted that they were not in a threatening situation at all. Who were Guard the protecting? And how do you figure you can kill someone who sets fire to something on your property? Some delusional form of self-defense?
@jroberts7387 funny you say that cuase it did ghange things all those protest played a big part in pulling out of that war. “The government will do what they want” thats ONLY if the people let them.
Yeah, well, I was in Thailand when this happened. I had already been in Vietnam. Personally, I think the Guardmen should be in jail.

A sad day, but the students burned a building, damaged property, rioted and more.
If they did that to my property, I would have had a legal right to shoot and kill.
And I would have done so.
Do not blame the National Guard.
Blame the students.
They started it all.

You just have no idea of what you speak of!!!!!
Absolutely NO IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@zachisbackfu TRUE,,….but as a teenager, I was more inspired by the radicals than the stoners
I will be using this video in my class tomorrow… thank you.
first off not one damn hippie ever got shot at it was the radicals that put up the resistance the hippies hung around smokin weed the radicals came wearing helmets and shoulder pads and the blame for any and all deaths belong to thoses who support war if america never invaded vietnam pot pot would have never happened take a bull for a walk in a china store you own what he breaks
Thank you! Enough with all of these faggots touting these no good pot smoking clowns as heroes and martyrs. They didn’t get shot at once in their fucking lives before they burned down that ROTC building. It served them right to get a taste of what the soldiers on the front lines stood up to every goddamn hour in ‘Nam and if they died, oh fucking well, so did people in ‘Nam.
Stupid hippies brought this on themselves. When are they going to learn that gathering outside and protesting isn’t going to change anything. The government will do what they want.
First, Isn’t a bit disingenuos to blame the protests against one repressive regime–the USA– for the actions of another repressive regime–the Soviet Union?
Essentially he was miffed because the US capitulated in Viet Nam. You tell me which is worse, killing millions with American bombs or killing millions with Communist bombs?
All the lives and $ we wasted in Nam,just as now,in Iraq,and Afaganistan;its sad,madning…..
