and the largest recent case of this is this whole salvia use amongst teens. Its like a joke unto them. Someone commented that it should be made illegal cause all it offers is a bad trip. That just reflected their ignorance to think that cause of their experience it should be taken away from all. Their too foolish to understand that using things wisely within a plants purpose reveals its wisdom.
i totally agree with shadowtamer. i have seen so many miss the point of entheogens completely due to lack of preparation or intention. It tends to gives the experience a bad rap, when its the user at fault.
In my experience, whereas entheogens can help to facilitate an awakening experience, they cannot prepare the mind to receive it. I would strongly recommend a regular meditation practice for at least two years before a “heroic dose.” If you can control your mind, and your concentration is sharp, then the odds of being overwhelmed to the point of harm are much smaller.

yes that is very true..i take hallucinogens for insight and mental pleasure..but true enlightenment is not so easily got,as you say..they do cheat the process but they bring so many to they’re senses and wake them up to the “other”reality..peace and good will is the way to go i say

though i do understand that Shamans for 1,000’s of years have used these types of drugs, i allso know that “I” sence i was 12 havnt needed them. when i was a young teen i tried the drugs, and all they did was make me question as to what i was seeing.

The basis for shamanism is contact with the spirits; we cannot get there by NOT using the tools we have gotten from Nature, the psychedelic plants and substance derived from them.
I agree that they have to be used with caution and respect, but I contend the idea that they short-circuit the brain. It seems to me that you have fallen prey to a doctrine after having a bad experience.
The problem is that halucigens ARE a way to short circuit the brain into a temporary form of mind expansion or enlightenment… BUT, without the grasp of universally fundamental spiritual truths (i.e. service to self VS service to Others) existential problems (i.e: of ego) can be exponentially increased. Enlightenment is an organic process that cannot be forced or cheated… May seem to work for some; but can seriously F.S.U. if one is not ready to confront the shadow self.
I think that’s part of the reason that the Government has made Psilocybin illegal – because it helps you realise how powerful you are as an individual!
If we became free thinkers and opened our horizons they ( fed reserve, independent bankers) would lose control. They need to keep us stupid, miserable and fearful. I say lets brake the chains and stand up for what we believe in.

though i have studied the use of drugs in trance and USED to used them as such when i was younger. NOW how ever i have learned and been teaching my students to acheve the Astrial state with out the use of drugs. i DO beleieve that SOME drugs used right could encreases our lives and our abilities to live.
