Long words don’t impress people these days mate. Everyone knows that what Derren does is fake, but most are still impressed. Just back off of dorianleakey, he was just stating what he believes, he doesn’t need you telling him what’s wrong or right about it. If you don’t like him, then why are you even watching his video?

This of course does not work he simply tells people they are “bright and creative” if it works and “a waste of time” if it doesn’t and so the gullible sheep say “It worked on me I must be bright and creative and not a waste of space”. Angry isn’t the word, just irritated. I am not sure what you mean about the hurried response. You typed “giving a reason and” as if I left it hanging, it was part of a sentence.

@sodijgosdjgosdjgojsg I have said nothing pretentious at all and said nothing to validate it as an experiment. I have only explained why it works on some people. You would only be prepared to listen to what I said if it was just me calling it bullshit.

I get the feeling nobody was meant to stick to their sofas, and Derren was just seeing if people would actually do it after seeing the fake video of other people doing it, making it seemingly plausible. Or for fear of being deemed “Not Creative” and just lying and saying it worked. The way he words it all at the beginning makes me just want to read between the lines…He speaks like that all the time, that’s the trick obviously but his agenda is very difficult to suss.

@lequ he is right about how it works though, its not hypnosis. but yeah “no hypnosis will affect me” probably doesn’t work on the excessively humble
@ThePhoenix278 of course by telling you one of the things that could make it work makes it less likely to be enjoyable, choosing not to make any movement that is a natural part of standing up is different to him putting the ideas in your head subtly.
@ThePhoenix278 a bigger chair, forgetting to stop following his rules at the end of the film, especially leaving your head in the same place. rememeber he said that circle is your safety zone? if that idea remains in your head at thend of his film, you wont lean forward to stand up, physically it becomes unnatural to stand up.

@mrcena911 you do actually realise its not meant to be magic? you arent really sounding more intelligent than him by responding this way. It will work on anyone who forgets to stop following his rules about how to sit after the film, which had nothing to do with his real trick. If you never followed his rules, which I know you didnt then it wouldnt even put you in a physical position that makes it hard to stand.
@11thhourreprieve everyone ismissing the physical aspect, he is telling you to sit right back in the chair, not move the head etc. If you carry on following his advice at the end of the film when you try to stand, at the very least you would have to detach your head.

@MrSimeon76 he wasnt really trying to hypnotise anyone,he puts a load of ideas in your head that a)makes you want to be stuck b) trys to convince you its already worked c)pysically puts you in a position that would make it harder to stand, right at the back of the chair, hands on thighs so you cant use them to help you up most extreme he tells you to leave your head in the same position, literally impossible to actually stand up normally and leave your head in the same placeon the chair.
